JAMES B. FARNSWORTH LOCAL SCHOOL COUNCIL

NOTICE WAS GIVEN that the Local School Council has scheduled a Bi-Annual meeting on Wednesday April 6th, 2016 that began at 5:00 p.m. at Farnsworth School, 5414 North Linder Avenue, in Chicago, Illinois.

V. Principal Evaluation (Move to closed session)
Jim Oehler made a motion to go into closed session for the purpose of principal evaluation. The motion was 2nd by Kathy O’Donnell. The motion passes unanimously.

Jim Oehler made a motion to go back into open session for the purpose of principal evaluation. The motion was 2nd by Christina Hatley. The motion passes unanimously.





VI. Vote to approve Principal Evaluation - OPEN session to resume at 6PM
A motion was made to approve Part 1 of the principal evaluation as conducted in closed session.

A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.

A. Chairperson

There is a parent vacancy on the LSC effective immediately as Jeanie Gustafson has resigned due to employment with the Chicago Public Schools.



B. Student Council Report
Unavailable due to evening meeting schedule



C. Principal
State of the School
-Highlights Include:
-Enrollment 614 to current 623

-Current Attendance: NO IEP 95.65%
                                  IEP 89.72%

-Personalized Letter from NWEA Consultant praising Farnsworth for its 90th percentile growth “that means there are only 7-10% of the schools across the nation that matched or had higher growth than your 3rd-8th grade students” –Sherry Bushre-Lukes

-Safety and Security Analysis was completed and Farnsworth is working with the Alderman’s office to address the concerns that were identified.
